Southern Area Hospice Services (SAHS) provides invaluable support and care to people living within the Southern Health Board Area, who are suffering from Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and AIDS. Our aim is to provide the best quality of life for our patients and their families.

We offer a range of services including an inpatient unit, out patient clinics, day hospice units in Newry and Dungannon and counselling and bereavement support. All our services are provided free of charge and we rely heavily on voluntary donations to continue providing our special care.

What is Palliative Care?
Palliative care describes the use of treatments to relieve symptoms rather than treating the cause of your illness. The Specialist Palliative Care Team concentrates on improving the quality of your life and can be involved at any time during your illness. We also provide information, advice and support.

Palliative Care supports and assists patients who have illnesses that no longer respond to curative treatment. This is usually cancer but also MS, MND and AIDS.

Who is the Palliative Care Team?
